The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is one of the standardized national level entrance examinations for the admissions to the management courses. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is valid for all the AICTE approved institutes. The exam was initialed by AICTE in 2012 and has been conducted by NTA from the year 2019.

The exam was earlier conducted by the AICTE in the year 2012 and was held by them up to the year The year-2018. This can be a physical as well as an online exam since 2019 by the NTA- National Testing Agency.
CMAT 2025
The NTA has released the application dates and other important details for the CMAT 2025 exam. This is for applicants who wish to pursue management courses at top business schools for the 2025-2026 academic year after completing their bachelor’s degree.
Important Dates and events
- The important dates and events for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2025 are as follows:
- The online application for CMAT 2025 will be available from November 14, 2024, to December 13, 2024 (until 9:50 P.M.).
- The last date to submit the application fee is December 14, 2024 (until 11:50 P.M.).
- The window for corrections will run from-15 December 2024 to -17 December 2024.
- The NTA will only come out with the announcement of the exam city on 17th January 2025.
- The status of admit cards will be available on the official website of NTA and will be available to clear from January 20, 2025.
- The exam will be held on 25th of January 2025.
Exam Pattern
The CMAT exam is an entrance examination that measures three hours (180 minutes), and the test mode is Computer-Based Test (CBT). It evaluates the candidate’s performance in various parameters these include Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension besides General Awareness.
The examination paper will be conducted in English only.
Marking Scheme for the 2025 CMAT Exam.
Every part of the question paper contains twenty questions all of which are assigned 4 marks each.
- Each correct answer given by the candidate will attract 4 marks.
- Thus, for each wrong answer 1 Mark will be penalized.
- They don’t include any marks for the number of questions skipped or the number of questions left unanswered.
If there exist changes in the Answer Key, only the candidates who answered the particular question as per the new Answer Key would have it recompensed.
- In cases where any question is omitted from the paper or for any reason is not reached by all the candidates for answer, all the candidates shall be deemed to have answered the question fully.
Education qualification
The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree, in any field. Besides, those students who are the final year of a bachelor’s degree course and whose result will be published prior to the commencement of the admission process for the CMAT 2025 can also apply.
Other criteria
- There is no age restriction for appearing in the CMAT entrance exam.
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Application fee
The amount of money the candidate will be charged as application fee depends on his/her category.
For candidates in the General (UR) category, the fee is:
- Rs. 2500 for male candidates
- Rs. 1250 for the female candidates
For candidates in the Gen-EWS, SC, ST, PwD, and OBC-(NCL) categories, the fee is:
- Rs. 1250 for male candidates
- For female candidates the fee is Rs. 1250
- Third gender candidates should pay Rs. 1250.
Application charges also involve services or processing fees if any, plus the GST as per the mode of payment.
- SBI and Other Banks Net Banking Services: Additional charges are Rs. 5 + GST as per the Payment Schedule, provided in the annexure.
- Debit Card Payments: No additional charges.
- Domestic Credit Cards: There are also the transaction fees $0.00 (fixed amount) and a processing fee of 0.80% of GST included.
- International Credit Cards: There is a fixed service charge of 3.50 % of the fee + GST which is subject to a minimum of Rs. 11.
- Unified Payment Interface (UPI): No processing charges.
Mode of payment: The application fee for CMAT is payable online through SBI Net Banking, Debit Card / Credit Card and through UPI. Candidate should retain the proof of the fee paid.
